History of the XV-XIX century

  The Department is a structural part of The Historical Museum of Asenovgrad since its foundation. Curators’ research and collection work is connected with the study of socio-economic, social and cultural history of the town and the region in the centuries of Ottoman rule. The fund of the Department contains over 180 archival units: documents, photos, books and manuscripts. The rich collection of Ottoman documents describes economic life of Asenovgrad region in the 19th century. Very wealthy one of temporary receipts contains valuable icons, church plates, old printed books, etc. Besides the scientific value, the exhibits kept in the fund of the Department have got uncontested exposure qualities and have successfully included in regional and national exhibitions.

 Currently, the curator of the Department is Mina Hristemova.
